IRCA approved training organisations
We are aware that a number of IRCA approved training organisations (TO) have been notifying delegates on non certified courses that certificates of successful completion for these courses may be presented to IRCA in support of an application for auditor certification. This practice should cease immediately. In the past we at IRCA have not helped the situation because individuals have allowed this as a variation. It is our intention to reinforce the rules. From the beginning of 2010 we will not accept any courses delivered by IRCA approved TOs but not covered by a course certification without carrying out a full assessment for equivalence. The only exceptions to this will be if there is a formal variation from an IRCA officer on file – for example for courses conducted between an acceptable desk top review and a satisfactory initial witness assessment. If any approved TOs believe there are courses affected by precedent that should be covered by a formal variation we require an application describing:
1. What course they believe should be accepted under variation.
2.The date(s) each course was run
3. Names of tutor(s) delivering the course(s) for our review.
4. Names of course delegates on each course (to allow us to cross reference).
5. The TOs reason for applying for a variation.
