IRCA revises Aerospace programme
This month IRCA announced a revised Aerospace
auditor certification programme
This revised programme is the result of work carried out by IRCA
and the Society of British
Aerospace Companies (SBAC) to reflect the developing
needs of the aerospace industry.
New Grades
The new programme includes two new grades: Internal
Auditor and Principal Auditor ,
which will broaden the relevance of the programme to a wider range
of aerospace professionals.
Recognizing different types of audit
The new programme recognizes that there are two distinct types
of audit conducted within the aerospace industry:
- Audit using standards other than the AS/EN/JISQ
9100 series, and not as part of the Aerospace Sector Certification
Scheme (ASCS).
- Audit using the AS/EN/JISQ 9100, 9110 &
9120 standards within third party accredited certification,
in support of ASCS"
To reflect these different approaches, the revised IRCA Aerospace
auditor certification programme has two distinct parts, each with
separate auditor grades and competence requirements.
IRCA Director, Simon Feary, stated, "I am pleased that we are
continuing to work with this industry sector to add value and
confidence in systems auditing, and to provide recognition for
QMS auditors who audit aerospace quality management systems."
