Indian institute joins IRCA

The Indian Institute of Quality Management (IIQM) has become one of IRCA's newest training organizations. It is now the first organization in India to conduct IRCA-approved, integrated safety management systems lead auditor programmes.

IIQM provides training to industry and user departments in the area of QMSs, EMSs, laboratory quality management, quality technology and information technology. It offers on-site programmes which are tailored to suit the specific needs of organizations, and offers residential facilities for trainees.

IIQM was established in 1994 and since then has trained professionals from India and other countries. It has facilitated educational programmes under bilateral arrangements with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India, and the Mauritius Quality Institute.

Over 50,000 students complete IRCA-certified training courses every year in more than 100 countries. Currently there are over 90 IRCA-approved training organizations who between them present more than 5,000 certified courses each year. AQA becomes an OEA

American Quality Assessors (AQA) International is the latest member of IRCA's organizations employing auditors (OEA) program.

AQA is a recognized certification body for ISO/TS 16949 (as approved by the International Automotive Task Force), QS 9000 and AS 9000/9100 (aerospace). AQA is a member of the Independent Association of Accredited Registrars, and is one of the few certification bodies that can perform capability maturity model assessment. AQA's mission is to deliver third party QMS and EMS assessment and registration services in a timely and cost-effective manner.

IRCA's OEA program is a way of demonstrating companies' commitment to providing clients with high quality auditors. The program aims to be time- and cost-effective by linking the OEA's administration and control systems closely with those of IRCA in order to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
