IRCA introduces rolling renewals

In response to IRCA's 2003 customer satisfaction survey - which highlighted IRCA's administration of auditor certification as one of the areas that could be particularly improved - IRCA has introduced rolling renewals.

Previously, a huge demand has been placed on IRCA at the beginning of every year, because at this time many auditors submit their audit and CPD logs for tri-annual renewal of certification, and an even greater number want to pay their annual fees. These events will now be spread throughout the year and will mean that auditors will benefit from a faster and more efficient service. In 2005, auditors will receive their new certification expiry date, which will coincide with the first day of the month of each auditor's birthday. However, this change will not apply to auditors whose certification is administered through an IRCA-recognized organization employing auditors.

Martin Prendergast, IRCA certification manager, says: 'This improvement has required considerable changes to our IT and our business processes, but the project will be worth it to see an increase in customer satisfaction.'
