Latest IRCA updates

New electronic forms

A set of new electronic forms for use by IRCA certificated auditors has been launched which will allow auditors to complete and save forms electronically. Auditors will still need to submit signed forms in hard copy, although IRCA is examining methods for making the certification process wholly electronic in the future.

TickIT revision

This month IRCA issued a revised TickIT 2000 auditor certification program, which now includes a new internal auditor grade, new principal auditor grade, no mandatory interview, and a new IT questionnaire requirement.

Aerospace revision

IRCA has revised its aerospace auditor certification program. There are now two new grades: internal auditor and principal auditor, which will broaden the relevance of the program. The new program recognizes the two distinct types of audit conducted within the aerospace industry:

  • audit using standards other than the AS/EN/JISQ 9100 series, and not as part of the Aerospace Sector Certification Scheme (ASCS)
  • audit using the AS/EN/JISQ 9100, 9110 and 9120 standards within third party accredited certification, in support of ASCS

IRCA's new social systems program

IRCA has introduced a new social systems auditor program which has been developed in conjunction with Marks & Spencer, the international retailer. It supports the third party certification of social systems and supplier approval programmes through the certification of the different categories of auditors, and by developing and promoting good auditor training and auditing best practice. IRCA will start accepting applications for auditor certification to its program from January 2005.
