New and improved IRCA homepage

In a bid to make the IRCA website more user-friendly, IRCA launched a major redesign of its homepage earlier this month (June 2010).

It has been a number of years since the IRCA website was launched and in the interim the web services team has been listening to comments from IRCA auditors and other users on how the site could be improved.

The new homepage has been created specifically to help auditors navigate around the site better. Satvir Bhullar, IRCA’s website coordinator, explained: ‘The IRCA team was getting a lot of enquiries from auditors about how to pay their fees and renew their certification because while all of the information was on the website many people were finding it difficult to locate.

‘We wanted to help website users so we redesigned the front page removing all the unnecessary sections and leaving the areas that are most important. The old homepage had 25 different sections that users could click on. There are now only 11 but, most importantly, we have not lost any information.’

‘We have also taken the opportunity to review the style of the home page and bring it more up to date. We are really pleased with the result and it is a great first step in our plans to review and consider a redevelopment of the site.’

Robert Skelton-Stroud, IRCA operations manager, said: ‘We have been monitoring the level and types of communications we have received from our website users and have taken this action to improve the visibility and usability of our website to help both new and existing auditors. At IRCA we believe in continual improvement which is this project is so important.’

The IRCA web services team would like to know what you think about the new homepage and what you would like to see with any the future development of the website. Join in the debate and have your say on the IRCA LinkedIn pages.
