New competence workshops

Responding to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) recent guidance on third-party certification competence and as a member of its working group, WG7, IRCA Japan is developing a new workshop for auditors and trainers of auditors.

The workshop has been developed corresponding to the METI guidelines and guidance issued by WG4 and will provide:

  • a consistent approach to deal with gaps in auditor competence
  • cost-effective auditor training
  • correct data with regards auditors’ competence
  • support of auditors continual professional development activities
  • identification of individual auditors’ strengths and weaknesses for focused professional development.

Workshops will be launched from April 2010 as requested by certification bodies and individual auditors. Further professional development workshops are to be developed based on identified weakness of auditors and training needs.
