IT service management programme

IT systems are a crucial component of business today. Any breakdown in IT services can cause a considerable risk to business continuity. ISO has developed a standard, ISO/IEC 20000, which is specifically related to the provision of IT services. The aim is to provide confidence that IT suppliers can design and supply IT services that consistently meet customer needs.

IRCA, in turn, has developed a new information technology service management systems (ITSMS) auditor certification programme, which will offer personnel certification to IT professionals across six auditor grades. Auditor training organizations will also have the opportunity to apply for IRCA course certification if they run IT service management courses.

Masayo Hachii, IRCA Japan manager, commented that, ‘the IRCA ITSMS auditor programme has been developed in conjunction with Japan Information Processing Development Corporation, and we appreciate their cooperation and contribution to the development process’.

ISO/IEC 20000 is aligned with and complementary to the process approach defined within the IT infrastructure library (ITIL).
