What would make the perfect certification body audit?
An IRCA 'open space' gathering with the end users of certification audits dealt with the question: ‘What would make the perfect certification body audit?’ They provided us with the following lists of what they want from a certification body audit and what they don’t want.
What we want: increased value without increased prices; better auditor conditions; auditors as fresh pair of eyes to the business but understanding our business in terms of strategy, plans and stakeholder requirements; consolidated reports from multi-site audits; and a management system auditor, not auditors for both quality and environment etc.
What we don’t want: auditors operating in their own comfort zones; making their own interpretations of standards; talking too much and listening too little; inaccurate documentation; and poor time management.
Do you agree or not with the findings or do you have your own views on what would make the perfect certification body audit? You can read the full report here.
