Charter for IQA

The Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) has been awarded a prestigious royal charter by Her Majesty the Queen. The new Chartered Quality Institute (the CQI) will be launched on 18 January, 2007.

World Quality day will be marked by IQA’s annual John Loxham Seminar and awards. The host for the evening will be Sara Coburn, BBC presenter and business guru, and VIP guest speaker Sir David Brown, chair of Motorola and the first president of the CQI. The event should be one to remember and the perfect opportunity to celebrate the success of the institute and the progress it will continue to make in the new millennium.

As Frank Steer, director general of IQA, expressed: ‘We are all extremely proud of this momentous achievement and we are very much looking forward to launching the new institute.’

The annual John Loxham Seminar, networking and awards event is a prestigious affair and named after the first president of the IQA. For years it has been one of the focal points for those in the institute, bringing together senior management, members and award winners to listen to quality related presentations. This year is no exception with the announcement of the royal charter and a talk from Sir David Brown, chair of Motorola and the soon-to-be first CQI president.

Since 1919, IQA has become the leading professional body for the advancement of quality in commerce and the public sector. With 12,000 individual members and 200 company members, IQA has been committed to bringing members, industry, commerce and the public sector together with a wide portfolio of organised activities.
