Going for gold

A joint cooperation agreement has been signed in Beijing with the science and technology committee for the 2008 Olympic Games, the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), and the British Standards Institution (BSI). The aim is to promote the use of standardization and encourage the harmonization of international standards concerning the Beijing Olympic Games.

This agreement recognizes the importance of standards and the integral role they play in supporting a safe, efficient, fair and environmentally friendly Olympic Games. Mike Lowe, director of BSI, said: ‘This is a great learning ground in preparation for the 2012 Olympics in London’.
