Occupational Health & Safety
Health and safety issues now affect all organizations to the
extent where the potential risks and legal obligations cannot
be ignored. To comply with changes in legislation and to protect
staff, more organizations are looking to reduce the risk of
accidents and litigation by implementing an Occupational Health
and Safety Management System based on OHSAS 18001.
The IRCA OH&SMS auditor programme has been developed in partnership
with the Institution of Occupational
Safety and Health (IOSH).
The programme supports third party certification: we certify
different categories of auditors - those employed by certification
body/registrars, consultants and internal auditors in addition
to developing and promoting good auditor training and auditing
best practice.
Benefits to organizations
- Confidence that IRCA certified auditors have the appropriate
training and skills
Benefits to certification bodies
- Re-assurance that IRCA auditors employed to audit organizations'
OH&S management systems for certification to OHSAS 18001
are competent and committed to continuing professional development
Benefits to auditors
- Recognition that you can conduct process-based audits competently
against OHSAS 18001 for clients worldwide
