Quality ISO 9000:1994
The ISO 9000:1994 series of standards have now been replaced
by the ISO 9000:2000 series. The IAF deadline for transfer of
certified organizations to the new standard is December 2003,
however IRCA recognizes that some organizations will continue
using standards based on the 1994 specifications and to support
such organizations, we intend to maintain the QMS (1994) auditor
certification programme to meet demand.
The IRCA QMS 1994 programme supports the third party certification
of ISO 9001:2000 based quality management systems. We certify
different categories of auditors - those employed by certification
body/registrars, consultants and internal auditors - as well as
developing and promoting good auditor training and auditing
best practice.
Benefits to organizations
- Confidence that IRCA certified auditors have the appropriate
training and skills
Benefits to certification bodies
- Re-assurance that IRCA auditors are competent to audit organizations'
quality management systems for certification to ISO 9000:1994
and that IRCA auditors are committed to continuing professional
development
Benefits to auditors
- International recognition that you can conduct audits competently
against the world's most commonly used quality management
system standard
