Those requiring an introduction to social systems standards, specifications and codes of conduct, including SA 8000 and the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) Base Code (or equivalent)

Internal social systems auditor course

Who should take this course?

Those who audit an organization's welfare and employment processes as part of the social systens internal audit programme. (Course requirement for certification as an internal auditor on the social systems programme)

What will I learn?

  •  The requirements of SA 8000 / ETI Base Code
  •  How to plan an internal audit
  •  How to conduct an internal audit
  •  How to report an internal audit

How long?

2 days in class or 18 hours distance learning + 1 day in class

Social systems auditor conversion course

Who should take this course?

Auditors with competence in another management system (i.e. QMS, OH&S) who wish to acquire the skills and knowledge to audit against social systems standards and codes of conduct. (Course requirement for certification as an auditor on the SS programme)

What will I learn?

  •  Social and ethical issues facing organizations
  •  Social conventions, specifications and codes
  •  The requirements of SA 8000 / ETI Base Code
  •  Specific social systems auditing skills and approaches

How long?

2 days in class or 40 hours distance learning + 1 day in class

(plus a written examination)

Who should take this course?

Those intending to acquire the competence to audit an organization's social and ethical management system, either as third or second party auditor. (Course requirement for certification as an auditor on the social systems programme)

What will I learn?

  •  Social and ethical issues facing organizations
  •  Social conventions, specifications and codes
  •  The requirements of SA 8000 / ETI Base Code
  •  Specific social systems auditing skills and approaches
  •  How to plan, complete and report the audit of an   entire social systems management system

How long?

5 days in class or 80 hours distance learning + 3 days in class

(plus a written examination)
