How to regrade

A regrade is an advancement in your certification grade i.e. from internal auditor to auditor, from auditor to lead auditor etc. You can apply to regrade at any time.

IRCA regrade application process

When we offer you your first certification, following initial application, we will indicate the audit experience and competencies you need to qualify for the next grade(s) of certification.

To apply for a regrade, you should complete IRCA audit log sheets, making sure you enclose all additional information we request and send to us with the regrade fee. A regrade will not change your renewal of certification date.

If you decide not to apply for a regrade during your initial certification period, we will contact you at renewal of certification time (towards the end of the certification period) and request you submit your audit and CPD logs. We will also inform you of the current regrade requirements. If you are regraded as part of the (3 year) renewal of certification process you do not need to pay a regrade fee.

Please contact us for further advice on how to regrade.
