Joint accreditation programmes in the US
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board – ACLASS brand (ACLASS) have agreed to carry out joint assessments for product certification bodies, inspection bodies and testing and calibrating laboratories.
The aim of the move is to further promote the work of these organizations as well as to provide a better value for money service. The joint programmes will be based on international standards ISO/IEC Guide 65, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020.
Roger Muse, director of sales and marketing at ACLASS, said: ‘The recognition of ANSI and ACLASS in both regional and global markets delivers a powerful layer of credibility to organizations seeking conformity assessment oversight.’
